Rambam Medical Center, established in 1938 during the British mandate, is one of the five largest hospitals in Israel. Rambam Medical Center provides medical care to the Haifa community and tertiary care facilities to the population of northern Israel. 3,500 physicians, nurses, paramedical and administrative staff. Rambam Medical Center comprises unique treatment units in northern Israel, and the Emergency Department and Trauma Unit are of the most active in Israel. All casualties are seen first in the Trauma Unit. With the outstanding surgical experience gained from treating battle injuries and victims of terror attacks, Rambam Medical Center has developed exceptional skills in treating multi-trauma, burn, head injury and chemical warfare patients. Rappaport Faculty of Medicine of the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology and the Cheryl Spencer School of Nursing, attached to Rambam Medical Center, provide instruction and specialization in various medical fields.
